About
Melanie Conklin is an award-winning author published with Penguin, Disney, Little, Brown, and Macmillan. Her books have won awards such as the International Literacy Association Teacher’s Choice Award, Bank Street Best Children’s Book, and nominations to six state reading lists. Melanie is experienced in editing for publication and has mentored writers of all ages through First Five Pages, WriteOnCon, and dozens of author visits to schools, libraries, and universities. She also sat on the regional selection committee for the Park Scholarship at North Carolina State University, of which she was a founding scholarship recipient.
